Conservation Divemaster Program
Duration: 6 weeks

This professional pathway integrates PADI Divemaster training with rigorous marine biology fieldwork. You will develop leadership excellence alongside instructors and scientists, mastering advanced research methods, data analysis and reporting. By supporting critical shark, turtle and coral surveys, you prepare for a career where elite diving skills and ocean protection converge.
Research Assistant Program
Duration: Starting from 3 weeks

Accessible to all levels, this flexible program provides a structured entry into marine science. Starting with the PADI Scientific Diver Course, you will join our team in gathering essential data on coral reefs and megafauna. Extended participation increases your field experience, professional certifications and technical skills for a conservation career.
Coral Specialist Program
Duration: 4 weeks
Cost: $ 3,149 USD
This annual, small-group immersion focuses on active reef recovery and restoration techniques. After completing the PADI Scientific Diver Course, you will deploy coral structures and conduct monitoring alongside our research team. This hands-on experience in the Gili Matra Marine Reserve builds specialised skills in reef-safe restoration and ecological analysis.
Shark Specialist Program
Duration: 4 weeks
Cost: $ 3,449 USD
Offered biannually, this intensive program delivers advanced training in elasmobranch research. You will master modern tools including BRUVs, photo identification and laser photogrammetry. The curriculum includes survey dives and a Lombok field trip, exploring the vital intersection of shark conservation, sustainable tourism and local livelihoods through a scientific lens.

Our Team
Our team includes marine biologists, conservation diver trainers, PADI instructors, Reef Check trainers, and Coral Catch Superwomen. Over 80 percent of our team is locally employed, with more than a decade of experience working in these waters.
Research
Our dives support active marine research in the Gili Matra Marine Reserve. Working closely with Coral Catch, marine scientists, and the marine park authority, we collect data on coral reefs, turtles, and sharks to support long term conservation.
When you dive with us, you may contribute to reef monitoring, coral restoration, or wildlife identification within the permitted research area, turning your dive into real scientific impact.

Diving Should Be Accessible to Everyone
Indonesia is home to some of the most biodiverse coral reefs on Earth. Yet many people living in coastal communities never have the opportunity to experience the underwater world that surrounds them.
The Gili Dive Club was created to change that. Our mission is simple: make diving more accessible for local communities and create more opportunities for local people to become actively involved in ocean conservation.
The Gili Dive Club is a community-led diving initiative created by NGO Coral Catch Indonesia and the Gili Conservation Dive Center.
